A fun and exciting way to win prize money while helping to raise money for the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society.
Prize break down:
1st Place: 25% of ticket sales (up to $1250.00) 2nd Place: 15% of ticket sales (up to $750.00) 3rd Place: 10% of ticket sales (up to $500.00)
Tickets are available at the Canada Day Office-Rehearsal Room 4 at the Cultural Centre or call the office at 527-9242. They will also be sold at the Medicine Hat Mall on May 25, 2002 and at Kin Coulee Park on Canada Day July 1, 2002. They will be sold at the information booths and at various locations throughout the park. Tickets will be sold until 3pm and will be dropped in the creek at approximately 4pm. Tickets are $5.00 each and there are only 1000 available! Balls will be dropped in the Seven Persons Creek. Come out and see which ball wins! Hopefully it is yours! |

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
Presented by the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society. 1. A maximum of 1000 tennis balls will be entered into the race. 2. Tennis balls will be launched on the Seven Person's Creek at approximately 4:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2002. The race course will be established by the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society and will be until the first 3 balls cross the finish line. 3. All tennis balls entered will be provided by the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society and shall remain the property of the Society. 4. Once the balls are launched, they are on their own. No attempt to free or interfere with any ball is permitted during the actual race, unless deemed necessary by the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Race Committee. 5. A number will be attached to each ball relating to the number on the ticket. The person's name that appears on the entry ticket corresponding to the balls in order of finish will be awarded prizes. A list of prizes and winners can be obtained by sending a written request and a self addressed stamped return envelope to: Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society - 2002 Sunshine Survivor Contest, 580 - 1st Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 8E6 6. The combined retail value of all prizes awarded will be equal to one half of the value of the total number of tickets sold. That is: 1st Place 25%, 2nd Place 15%, and 3rd Place 10%. 7. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. 8. The first place winner shall be the first ball to cross over the finish line. The second place winner shall be the second ball to cross over the finish line. The third place winner shall be the third ball to cross over the finish line. 9. In order to enter or win, entrants must purchase a ticket for $5.00 for each ball entered. 10. Winners will be announced at Kin Coulee Park 10 minutes from the conclusion of the race on July 1, 2002. If necessary, entrants will be notified by Canada Post Service and/or telephone. 11. By entering, a winner consents to the promotional use of their names and likenesses without any additional compensation. 12. Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries. 13. The conduct of the race and the determination of the race winners will be audited by the Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society. All decisions and interpretations of rules and regulations will be made by Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society and the judgment is final. |
