Food Alley Participants please note the following:
- Each food booth must have one supervisor on site, and must have attended the food safe course conducted by the Palliser Health Authority at the Medicine Hat College. - Each food booth must supply both hot and cold water for hand washing (for the members of your group). The use of cold water alone is not acceptable. The health inspector recommends using a coffee urn to heat up water for hand washing. If this poses a problem, water may be also be heated in a kettle, as long as it is kept warm in a carafe or a thermos. - Quatsan, a sanitizing solution, must be used for wiping down all work surfaces and cooking equipment, etc - A grey water tank will be placed at Food alley for your use. Please dispose of your waste water here, rather than throwing it on the ground. - The health inspector will be on site on Canada day. Please ensure that you follow all of the guidelines listed in the Operating Requirements for Temporary Food Establishments. We do not want any booths shut down because they chose not to adhere to these rules. - The Canada Day Society will wholesale soft drinks and bottle water to all Food alley participants. To make the system easier, groups can pay for the total number of soft drinks and bottled water purchased from the Society at the end of the day by cheque payable to "Medicine Hat and District Canada Day Society", rather than making payment each time items are picked up. Any left over soft drinks (purchased from Canada Day Society) you may have at the end of the day can be returned to the Canada Day Society truck provided that the plastic rings have not been removed from six packs of soft drinks or plastic covering from bottled water pack. You may not return individual cans or bottles. - Each group will receive two passes that will allow you to enter Kin Coulee Park by south entrance on Canada Day at 7:00 a.m. to set up. All vehicles must be out of the park by 9:30 a.m. by the south entrance. By using the same passes you may entry the park by south entrance at between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. to remove the equipment from the food booth.
